About the Company

The Kidney Champion foundation was started by Crystal King, a mom and kidney transplant survivor who is most known for sharing moments from her journey with kidney disease. By shedding light on the challenges that result from living with an invisible illness, providing education for kidney disease, and encouraging people to become organ donors, Crystal became an Influencer in the kidney community.

The Kidney Champions Foundation leverages the online spaces where people are already having conversations to shed light on stories from underserved communities, and underrepresented healthcare professionals. We bring attention to the disparities in healthcare for women and people of color. These stories empower kidney patients to take control of the narrative so that it’s more authentic and accurate. Our intention is to challenge assumptions around what limits equitable access to lifesaving services and healthcare. Waiting for a donor or to donate is active: it’s using your voice; it's asking questions; it’s support. The Kidney Champion Foundation is a place for us to influence the change we seek.
